Virtual Altruist

Final project for the Fall 2014 course Social Web at Carnegie Mellon University. It is a platform designed to help develop, organize, and share one’s online activism profile. Using social media, VirtualAltruist gives Altrupoints indicating how active someone is in promoting social causes.

Ideally, this social network would use advertisements to provide some cents that would be donated to different desired NGO's. This would help avoid slacktivism that exists nowadays in social media.

I was in charge of:

  • Coding frontend and part of backend using the JS Meteor Framework.
  • Basic wireframing and layout.
  • Basic design of content
